There has been quite a bit of press lately about the destruction of rain forests in South-east Asia, home to some of the most bio-diverse ecosystems in the world, with the threat of losing these forests and destroying the livelihood of native people, orangutang, Sumatran tiger populations and other important wildlife. On that issue we were not prepared to stock any waxes that were involved in such destruction of the environment and we knew it would not be acceptable to you either. Therefore our supplier has partnered with a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. This organization was founded by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and heads of government and industry involved in palm cultivation. The RSPO was founded to develop and define best practices for sustainable palm cultivation, and protection of the environment. If you are looking for an environmentally responsible, non GM palm wax, then this is for you.
